So a little over $900 per family of debt? Why not even dent average medical debt for 2,000 instead of completely clearing 5 families

You never know what kind of sum is impossible to pay at once for some people. For some it's $10,000, for others, $200. And it says PAYS OFF?

It's noncollectable debt, past statute of limitations, that is only good for illegally hassling people, so they bought nothing.

Small difference for many or a big difference for few are both equally good tbh, but should a church prioritise the few over the many?

#1 is my old home church in Michigan. The congregation paid for 2,000 families which was over 2 million in medical expenses.

I wonder if taxing churches would have a bigger impact on the needy, as opposed to a one time donation

I'm guessing the church paid the minimum possible. Many hospitals in the US gives payment suggestions, and you only have to pay like 10%.

YouWillNeverFindMe . 2019-07-16 16:16:18
The hospitals requests payments way above what is even legal, but since it's just a request it's legal. There was a post about it a while
