I do two handed knitting for stranded colorwork which is semi-Continental but you are the first person I have come across to actually show the Purl Continental which is a mystery to me. I hope you will show a ribbing sample in your tutorial.

I need to see the FIRST purl stitch of a row. Your video for purling begins in mid -row. So although your instructions are very clear, I can't start purling. Yikes!

Absolutely Fabulous Instructions!
Thank you for encouraging tension practice.
Thank you for going slowly enough for beginners.
Thank you for clear camera work.
I am a semi-ambidextrous 70 year old with arthritis - but hey, never say quit!
I crochet left handed, but knit right handed...Continental method just seems to make more sense...

I use my middle finger rather than my pointer finger and I do that for crochet as well. Doing it that way causes my hand to hurt but of course muscle memory forbids me from trying different methods...I’m also impatient. But this video helps make sense of it all....probably the best video I’ve seen on continental knitting, and I’ve watched a lot. Your personality is amazing as well, thanks for a great video!

I love your detail on continental knitting; however really difficult for me. I will just have to keep working at it.

That yarn is making a beautiful gradient. I've been looking for yarn that genuinely does a gradient rather than just being striping yarn. What yarn is it? So pretty. Would be a beautiful scarf

THANK YOU!! I just needed help with the tension portion of continental knitting because no one showed that part. Now I feel more comfortable doing it!

Also, I really love your effortless humor.

Knit a Tom Baker scarf?! I wish I had that kind of dedication and time! I mean, I would love to have one, and maybe someday I will, but that probably won't be until I'm retired lol. I love everything about this tutorial. I especially like that you skipped the whole "this is how you make a slipknot" and "this is an easy way to cast on". I know that those kinds of tutorials are good, but I get tired of scrubbing through every effing knitting or crocheting video just to get to the bit I want to see.

I'm really not sure I can learn this method. I followed this video and holding it around my pinky the yarn continues to move even if my pinky is closed to my ring finger so I can't seem to keep tension. Also does it matter the size of yarn, I'm using a thicker yarn and it doesn't seem to be helpful

AWESOME video!!! I learned the throwing method, kept knitting too tightly! One day watched my neighbor doing the continental method,,,, took me a couple weeks to get it down but OMG!!! Like it much better, can knit faster AND looser! No longer strangling the needles (not to mention no longer wearing the tips off my needles) . LoL!!! I hold everything almost like you do (I don’t wrap my pinky unless using certain yarns or a lot of knit & purl sts), with my left I hold like you except yarn goes over my middle finger so I just scoop the yarn right off of it.
Great tutorial tip!!!

Knitting and crocheting doesn't come naturally to me because I'm very impatient. With a lot of time and effort I have learned how to crochet last year. Learning how to knit has been disastrous because I did not want to learn how to hold the yarn in my right hand instead of the left and I could not find a good tutorial to explain it to me. I could only do the purling (backward?) stitch type because that is the most similar to crochet. THANK YOU for this video! Can finally make my grandma proud and knit a scarf for once!

THIS IS THE ONE. The one video that I finally understood continental purling instructions. I’ve been through SO many videos labeled “continental purling” but this is the one that didn’t complicate it. If you haven’t already maybe make a separate video or just add purling to the title of this one. This video is GOLD!
